Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Please prepare your manuscript following these basic requirements:

  1. Manuscript Format

    • Use the AJHTS Article Template (A4, one column, Times New Roman).

    • Title: 14 pt bold; Authors: 12 pt; Body text: 12 pt.

    • Articles may be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia.

  2. Structure

    • Title, Author(s) & Affiliation

    • Abstract (max 150 words, English only) + 4–5 Keywords

    • Introduction

    • Literature Review

    • Method and Theory

    • Results and Discussion

    • Conclusion

    • Acknowledgments (optional)

    • References (APA 7th)

    • Appendix (if any)

    • Author Profile (50–100 words)

  3. Tables, Figures, and Photos

    • Must be clear, numbered, and cited in the text.

    • Photos/figures require proper credit or copyright permission.

    • Screenshot tables are not allowed.

  4. References

    • Follow APA 7th Edition strictly.

    • Include DOI or URL whenever available.

  5. Originality

    • Submission must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere.

    • Authors are responsible for ethical compliance and copyright permissions.

Copyright Notice

By submitting a manuscript to AJHTS (ASEAN Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Studies), authors agree to the following terms:

  1. Copyright Retention

    Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant AJHTS the right of first publication. The article will be published under the journal’s selected open-access license (Creative Commons Attribution License – CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited and credited to the authors and AJHTS.

  2. Author Rights

    Authors are allowed and encouraged to:

    • Share the published article on personal websites, institutional repositories, research networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu), or other platforms.

    • Use the article for teaching, conference presentations, and other scholarly purposes.

    • Reuse figures or sections of the article in future works,

      as long as the original publication in AJHTS is acknowledged.

  3. Publishing License

    Authors grant AJHTS a non-exclusive license to publish, archive, and disseminate the submitted article in all media formats (print and electronic). This includes indexing, metadata distribution, and deposit to third-party databases.

  4. Originality Assurance

    Authors affirm that the manuscript:

    • Is original and has not been previously published,

    • Is not under review or consideration by another journal,

    • Does not contain any unlawful or defamatory content,

    • Has fully acknowledged all sources and obtained necessary permissions for copyrighted materials.

    The authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and legal compliance of the content.

  5. Liability and Ethical Compliance

    The authors warrant that the article complies with international academic ethics, including those outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). AJHTS will not be held legally responsible for any claims arising from the content of the article.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
